Fishing
Whether reeling in large-mouth
bass on the shores of Angostura Lake, or on its waters aboard one of our hybrid
canoe-kayaks, or catching trout inside the knee deep waters of the Bavispe
River, fishing at Rancho Los Baños
offers hours of fun-filled, relaxed and enjoyable fishing. Unstressed, healthy
and voluminous, the fish that comprise the lake and river water systems will
make your time fishing unforgettable and enjoyable, a great treat for any
angler, whether avid or novice.
Whether catching large-mouth
bass, sunfish, catfish or trout, whether on the lake or in the river, you will
spend hours enjoying the sights, sounds, smells and serenity of our fishing
adventures. With a remoteness and tranquility that is welcoming, a surrounding
scenery that is majestic, and a lake or river that is virtually empty of
people, you will find yourself immersed in a very relaxing and rewarding
activity. Rarely does one get the chance
to fish in a desert paradise like this one, where all the perfect conditions
come together, in a fishing freedom not found in many places.
Whether bringing your own
equipment or using ours, fishing at the Rancho will become a welcome escape
from our many other activities. Indeed, there is nothing wrong with taking a
day off from horseback riding or hiking, simply to relax on warm shores or
thrilling kayaks, absorbing the gentle, warm sun rays, the stillness and
quietness of complete silence, and the reenergizing quality of being the only
person on the entire lake or river.
Fishing on a desert lake or an
oasis-like river basin, with monolithic mountains in the background, or enveloped by canyon walls, desert
vegetation surrounding you, not a boat or jet-ski around, in complete and
serene environments, is a Rancho adventure that anglers of all types should
take advantage of.
In the end, sitting on a
relaxing chair, under the shade of a mesquite tree, enjoying a beer or two, actively
engaged in great conversation, reeling in bass or trout, readying the night’s
dinner, a delicious and fresh fish fry your reward for a few hours of relaxing
in a desert paradise.
